Frequently asked questions
How many cameras do I need?
It depends on the property. A typical villa needs cameras at the gate, the entrance, the pool area and the parking area; a small shop needs the register and the door. In Phuket we inspect the property for free, suggest a layout and send you a quote before you buy anything.
Can I watch the cameras while I am away?
Yes. We set up the viewing app on your phone, tablet or computer, and you can see live video and recordings wherever you have internet access.
How long is the video stored?
As long as you need — from a few days to a month or more. The storage period depends on the number of cameras, picture quality and disk size; we pick the disks for the period you choose.
Will the cameras work during a power cut?
With a UPS (backup power unit) the recorder, cameras and router keep working during short power cuts, so recording does not stop. We choose the UPS for your equipment.
Can you fix or extend a system someone else installed?
Yes. We check what is already installed, tell you what is worth keeping, and add cameras, replace faulty ones or reconfigure the recorder and remote access.
Do I need signs about video surveillance?
Yes, in shops, cafes, hotels and other places open to visitors. Thailand's data protection law (PDPA) requires telling people that cameras are recording, usually with signs at the entrance. We will tell you where they are needed; the signs themselves are ordered and put up by you. At a private home they are usually not required.
Do you work outside Phuket?
Our main area is Phuket. Projects in other cities in Thailand are possible by arrangement — tell us the location and the size of the job.
